An Endurance Challenge
Like No Other

As someone committed to becoming the best version of myself — and encouraging others to be their best — I signed up for 29029 Everest. This ultra endurance challenge takes the 29,029 feet it takes to reach the summit of Mount Everest and turns it into a three-day, 36-hour hiking community challenge that is equal parts physical, mental and spiritual.

My participation will not only push me past my comfort zone to see what I can accomplish, it will raise funds for an important charity: The Jones Project, a not-for-profit organization aimed at raising awareness of mental and emotional illness and funding the resources and research that can help people live more rewarding lives. The Jones Project was created in memory of Josh Jones, a visionary communicator and all-around good human.

Tell us about yourself:

I am married to Kelley O’Dell, and we have two daughters, Leighton, 6, and Briar, 2. We live in Denver and enjoy spending our free time traveling to any place with a beach and a palm tree. We also like to play golf and hang out with friends.

The name of our company is EdgeRock Wealth Management, and we have three offices along with 13 employees. Kelley works in our office as Client Relationship Director. We love helping our clients and really enjoy the challenge of building and growing a business.

Why did you choose to participate in 29029?

I decided to participate in 29029 because of the mental and physical challenge. I like to compete and push myself. I grew up playing sports and played football in college. It’s been quite a few years since I’ve competed in a physical event, so I am looking forward to the challenge.

What’s your greatest fear about participating in 29029, and what do you hope to learn from this experience?

I’m looking forward to pushing myself and hope to compete in future events similar to 29029.
